Five reasons to book a 2022 Europe cruise right now

Plan early for your pick of staterooms and travel options, plus have the holiday of a lifetime on the horizon to look forward

December 2020

By Tristan Parker

It may seem like a long way off now, but (rather scarily) 2022 will be here before you know it. Have your dream holiday firmly in the diary and book your place on a Princess 2022 Europe cruise, with numerous voyages departing for The Mediterranean, Scandinavia and even further afield from Southampton. As part of the season, there are itineraries for every traveller, exploring some of the continent’s most exciting countries. Aside from securing an incredible holiday, there are many reasons why it’s smart to book early…

Have your pick of incredible destinations

If you’re itching to explore Northern Europe, discover the Baltic states on an 11-day Russia and Scandinavia cruise (including two days in stunning St. Petersburg and time in Estonia’s beautiful capital, Tallinn). For a welcome burst of sunshine, sail The Mediterranean taking in the cosmopolitan cities of Barcelona, Athens and Rome, but also less-known gems such as Kotor in Montenegro, Vigo in Spain and Messina in Sicily. For something closer to home, you can explore the British Isles on an itinerary covering the wild and incredible Scottish Highlands and Islands, the vibrant capitals of Northern Ireland and Ireland – Belfast and Dublin, respectively – and ancient wonders like Stonehenge in the south of England.

Plan a proper adventure

After a year of travel restrictions and disruptions, make up for lost time and plan a trip to really remember. Witness natural wonders in Norway aboard Island Princess, where in summer months you can catch the midnight sun and aim to see the dazzling Northern Lights in autumn. And it’s not just Norway that offers bucket list experiences – Island Princess also sails to Reykjavik, where you can bathe in geothermal waters at the immense Blue Lagoon, and Greenland, home to magnificent fjords in the town of Qaqortoq, which can explore via kayak.

Join in the festivities

In 2022, our European season takes in some of the continent’s biggest and best festivals. Crown Princess will dock into the Scottish capital of Edinburgh in August, when the annual Military Tattoo takes place. As part of the celebrations, visitors will witness hundreds of bagpipers, drummers and dancers performing a spectacular show set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. Later in the year, join excited revellers at Hamburg’s Oktoberfest in September (also on an Island Princess itinerary). Rivalling the famous Munich event, Hamburg’s own beer festival is an almighty party that needs to be seen to be believed.

Get the perks of being an early bird

Booking early for our 2022 season offers some great advantages. You’ll have first choice on dining times, plus have your pick of staterooms, securing the optimum location for your needs. For example, if you’re travelling with children, you can choose a room that allows for extra easy navigation to the kids’ club or pool deck (or the Gelato ice cream parlour!). Also, if you’re booking flights, hotels and transfers as part of your cruise, these may also be cheaper to book in advance. Booking early also means more time to plan your trip and, crucially, more time to get excited!

Spread the cost

Book your cruise holiday early and benefit from spreading out the cost over a longer period. The Princess Pay Monthly plan enables you do this with equal monthly payments, without any extra fees or charges being added on top. You can even make additional payments at any point.
