Summer 2023 issue
Discover our UNESCO bucket list, the history of Italy's limoncello, the blossoming wine scene in Thailand along with Iceland's sunnier side
Summer’s arrived (we’ve waited long enough!) and everyone has holidays on their mind. Are you hoping for a sun-soaked trip to the Med? Or an escape somewhere even more far-flung? While staying local might not be on the agenda location-wise for many of us, this issue is all about embracing what’s local wherever you’re heading to, whether that’s the food, drink, craft, culture or customs.
When on the Amalfi Coast, be sure to sip limoncello, which is made with homegrown lemons, as you’ll discover in our citrus-hued feature on page 34. In Dubrovnik Old Town, splurge on hand-sewn linens made by a legendary artisan, whom you’ll meet on page 40. In Iceland, you can celebrate summer by joining residents on their annual foraging trips (see page 24). ‘When in Rome…’ as they say – and anywhere else you may be, of course!
